Parks
Gibbons hosts ten park areas, including seven playgrounds, two passive parks, and a sports grounds area. They are as follows:
Brumfit Park - Gibbons' best kept secret, this park is located in the center of the Brumfit subdivision. This playground areas hosts a playground structure and individual pieces of equipment.
Centre Park - Located in the downtown area, this inter-generational park was refurbished as part of a millennium project. A new playground structure was installed, a gazebo with games table was built and a pathway to a picnic area was put in place.
Echo Glen Park and River Valley Trail - This park area includes over 2 km of natural walking trail along the Sturgeon River Valley. Echo Glen Park has a picnic area with outdoor cook stoves and a fish pond which is stocked with trout annually. Echo Glen playground is located on the south end of the walking trail.
Gibbons Memorial Park - This park area hosts a playground structure designed for pre-teens.
Jack Hogg Sports Grounds - This sports grounds area hosts four shale ball diamonds, one full size soccer pitch, one mini-soccer pitches, a skateboard park, an outdoor rink and a skating oval.
Landing Trail Sports Ground - This sports grounds area hosts one full size soccer pitch that can be changed into 3 minis and one medium soccer pitch.
Mile 26 Park - Located on 53 Avenue, this passive park was Mile 26 on the historical Athabasca Landing Trail.
Oliver Park - This passive park area is home to the Gibbons Museum. The Museum is operated by the Sturgeon River Historical Society. The Museum hosts turn of the century buildings, equipment, tools and artifacts. The Museum is open during the months of May to September for tours and is the home of many community events. Group tours can be arranged by contacting the Historical Society.
Poplar Park - This park area hosts a playground structure designed for pre-teens. Poplar Park has basketball courts and tennis courts and a picnic area. Soon to be the home of the Gibbons Spray Park.
Williams Park - located in the Williams Park subdivision, this park hosts playground structures and a picnic table.

Programs
For further information about any of the courses list here, contact the Gibbons Town Office at (780)923-3331. To register for any of the listed courses, fill in a registration form and waiver and mail with cheque, money order or credit card to: Town of Gibbons, Box 68, Gibbons, Alberta T0A 1N0.
The Town of Gibbons offers subsidies for children of families in financial hardship, toward courses provided by the Town of Gibbons and municipalities within the Sturgeon Learning Council area. Families wishing to access a subsidy can do so by completing an application and sending in to the address listed on the application. Pick up an application by clicking here.

Gibbons Arena - The Arena is operated by the Town of Gibbons. It is utilized for winter activities including Minor Hockey, adult hockey, figure skating and public skating. During summer months, the arena is used for Farmers Markets and community events. For ice time booking information, contact us by calling (780) 923-3331 or email Facilities.
Gibbons Curling Rink - This facility has four sheets of ice for adult and junior curling. A full lounge facility is located on the second floor. This facility is operated by the Gibbons Curling Club, a local non-profit organization.

Gibbons Community Hall - The Community Hall has full kitchen facilities and seating for 150 people, a stage area, portable bar and P.A. system. This facility may be utilized for meetings and social functions.
Gibbons School Joint Use Area - The Gibbons School gymnasium and two classroom areas are available for community use for meetings and sports functions.
Landing Trail School Joint Use Area - Landing Trail School area has full kitchen facilities and seating for 350 people, a stage area, a bar area and P.A. system. This area can be utilized for meetings, social functions or sporting activities. Landing Trail School also has a classroom area available for meetings.
